MADC serves uninsured patients under 150 percent of the poverty level. The Student Training Program imparts professional experience to participating dental students and gives them experience serving an underserved population, largely Hispanic and African American, including people who are homeless and/or in treatment programs. Cultural competence and professional skills are expected outcomes for the students. Quality dental care for impoverished people is an important benefit to the community.
