on Thursdays from 10AM - 12noon
The cost is $3,000 (by check, PayPal or ACH)
which includes a textbook, personal assistance during the class duration and
1-on-1 coaching for 6 months after.
Financial assistance is available.

CHW Training

Milwaukee AHEC is an established provider of Community Health Worker Training. Recognizing that there is a need for community health workers to serve as a “bridge” between community members and the health care delivery system, Milwaukee AHEC launched the Community Health Worker Training Program in 2010.

The training program is employer-endorsed, with partner health systems in the metro Milwaukee area, and culminates in learners earning a certification from Milwaukee AHEC.

Our CHW Training has clear objectives for participants to demonstrate the following skills upon training completion:

Describe the role of a CHW

Describe a healthy community and the factors affecting its health

Explain the implications of health statistics to community health and development

Discuss & apply the strategies/approaches necessary to educate members of the community
-
Serve as part of a health care team in service to individuals and families in the community

Demonstrate acquired knowledge, skills and behaviors of a CHW.

The Virtual CHW Training Program consists of online coursework with textbook, virtual weekly sessions (one afternoon/week),

6 months of 1-on-1 coaching after training is completed, culminating in a Certificate of Completion after Final Presentations.
