Operations Manager / Executive Assistant
Melanie Berg began as a volunteer with the Milwaukee Area Health Education Center (Milwaukee AHEC) staff in 2008 with a desire to transition her corporate project management skills to the non-profit world. Melanie earned an International Business degree from Bradley University and went on to become a Women's Business Advisor in the US Peace Corps in Kenya. After working in various corporate marketing settings, Melanie decided her heart lies in serving the community in non-profits.
After leaving AHEC in 2012 to pursue fund development opportunities at Community Advocates, the Milwaukee Public Library Foundation, and Highland Community School, Melanie returned to Milwaukee AHEC part-time in May 2019 to assist the staff in programs, marketing and operations.
Melanie is the proud mom of two boys - ages 10 and 12 - and enjoys traveling with her family, reading, and indulging in Milwaukee's foodie scene in her spare time.
