MAHEC Board Chair 2017-2022

MAHEC Board Member 2013-2022

"Serving nine years as a Milwaukee AHEC Board of Director has been a highlight of my professional career. The opportunity to serve an organization that has been a ‘catalyst for change’ since 1992 and who has grown to annually engage over 300 program participants to join us in our mission ‘to increase the diversity and distribution of health professionals through strategic partnerships to improve the health outcomes in Southeastern Wisconsin' has been invaluable.

For my personal highlight, the hiring of its current executive director, Azure’De Williams in 2017 was a pivotal point in Milwaukee AHEC’s history to strengthen healthcare organization partnerships and grow programming, specifically the AHEC Scholars and Community Health Workers training statewide.

An additional highlight is the Milwaukee AHEC office move to co-locate at the Innovation and Wellness Commons of the Walnut Way Conservation Corp which is situated in an important central city neighborhood that allows us to be amongst Milwaukee’s other notable community-based organizations to strengthen our vision to build a sufficient health workforce reflective of the communities that it serves.”
