Javier Acevedo-Baez
Javier Acevedo-Baez is a bilingual community health worker, leader, and mentor with more than 20 years of experience advancing equity, access, and culturally-responsive services for underserved communities. He currently serves as Supervisor of the Community Health Worker Program at the Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services Aging and Disabilities Resource Center (ADRC), where he supports CHWs serving older adults, people with disabilities, and their families. Javier also serves as an appointed member of the Governor's Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council.
Javier’s nonprofit and community-development experience includes serving in positions of leadership with UMOS and the Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce. His background includes community outreach, education, advocacy, workforce development, resource development, resource navigation, organizational development, and anti-human-trafficking efforts. He is committed to supporting future Community Health Workers as they build the skills, confidence, and relationships needed to create healthier and more equitable communities.
